About Us
We are blessed with a talent and love for dance.
We have been given the opportunity to share this love through performing and teaching. We have appeared on television, toured the world, danced for homeless children, and for the President of the United States.
Each week we teach 2-year-old toddlers in diapers, professional dance company members, teens with special needs, and athletes striving for the highest achievements. We have an awesome responsibility to be a part of the self image that is imprinted in a child's mind for their entire lives. Their self esteem and sense of worth can be affected by a single word or action. We take this responsibility to heart with every class we teach.
We hope that each child finds dignity and a sense of purpose through our classes, whether they are dancing for fun and exercise or have dreams of Broadway and Swan Lake. Our job is to guide our students to their goals while being an example of integrity, compassion, and humility. Dancin' School was founded in 1976 on the belief that we should be grateful for our gifts and talents, and the mission of this school is to inspire our students to share those gifts.

"Cookie Joe has been a part of Houston's performing arts for more than a quarter of a century. I met her in 1975 when she was a dancer at TUTS. But Cookie didn't remain in the chorus long! She founded her own school and became a leader on the Houston dance scene."

Our Staff
Cookie Joe has gathered gifted instructors with various backgrounds in performance and instruction to provide students with extensive, professional dance training. The faculty is committed to instilling consistent and disciplined study. The teaching staff was selected for their positive approach to teaching and their value as inspirational role models. Furthermore, all instructors at Dancin' School teach by example and maintain extensive training and performance schedules throughout the year in order to enhance their dance skills and techniques.
Our Students
Dancin' School has established a reputation for producing students who excel in areas other than classical dance, such as musical theater, sports, and school-sponsored organizations. Because of the emphasis on discipline, commitment, and professionalism, students develop a sense of responsibility, confidence, and positive self-image. Our students often become leaders in academics, athletics, and the fine arts.
Our Community
Dancin' School encourages community involvement and is active in community outreach and service. Staff, students, and parents work together in an effort to share their talents and love of dance with others. The school sponsors fundraising events throughout the year to provide financial assistance to those in need, thereby teaching goal setting, teamwork, and generosity of spirit. Our ministries include Champions Kids Camp, Child Advocates of Fort Bend, Exchange Club of Sugar Land, Hope for Three, Isaiah 117 House, the Star of Hope Homeless Mission, and Texana Center.
